He advocated free market capitalism as part of his economic theory. His positive economics methodology and simple models made it very easy for the prediction of economic happenings in the future. His libertarian philosophy and his proposals got him in to many controversies, but also much recognition. He served as a professor for over 30 years and due to his efforts in his field and enhancing the utility of each individual, he has been rewarded handsomely. Much his work looked like he was the opponent of the Keynesian function. However, they both had very similar same view with a different approach. Friedman’s view affected many US corporations and the economy of the US and his ideals resonate with the way in which the market is right now. His views were for the completely free market where there was no government, other authorities or price setting monopolies influencing the market and its growth.
